ISPM-15 Heat Treatment Certification
Ensuring Safe Global Shipping
At Franke’s Wood Products, we specialize in producing heat-treated pallets that comply with international export standards. Certified by the Package Research Laboratory (PRL), our products meet the stringent ISPM-15 regulations designed to prevent the spread of pests and diseases in global trade.
ISPM-15, short for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No.15, mandates that all wooden packaging materials used in international shipping, such as pallets and crates, must be treated to eliminate pests. This process involves heating the wood to a core temperature of 56°C for at least 30 minutes or fumigating it with Methyl Bromide. Only certified companies, like ours, are authorized to apply the quality treatment mark indicating compliance.
To ensure we meet these standards, we use a KILN-DIRECT kiln capable of heat-treating large quantities of pallets on-site. Additionally, all lumber used in our packaging is debarked before treatment to prevent re-infestation. This thorough process guarantees that our heat-treated pallets stay pest-free and compliant, ensuring safe and secure international transport for your products.
