What are Shock Pallets?
Shock pallets are custom pallets designed to absorb shocks during shipping. They have shock mounts made of high-density foam between the bottom runners and the deck to cushion sensitive cargo. Shock pallets are used to ship fragile or expensive items that could be damaged on standard wood pallets.
The Anatomy of a Shock Pallet
Base
Shock pallets have strong foundations made of reinforced wood. The base is designed to handle both the shock-absorbing system above it and your cargo without flexing. In industrial settings, these builds are sometimes called skids shock systems, especially when they’re used to move heavy equipment that sits close to the ground.
Shock Mounts
The shock mounts absorb and control impact energy. Our shock mounts are made of high-density polyethylene foams. If your shock pallet is dropped or jolted, the shock mounts compress and rebound to reduce the force that reaches your cargo.Floating Load Platform
The floating load platform sits on top of the pallet’s shock mounts. This is the surface your equipment rests on.
